My OU/TX Watch Party Contribution

Sooo…. I love cheesecake. I also love strawberries….

What’s better and more festive than a Crimson and Cream dessert for the OU/TX game watch party?!

NOTHING.

Here is one of the easiest and most fun treats you can come across when it comes to finger foods and football fun!

Strawberry Cheesecake Bites:
1 lb. of strawberries (rinsed)
1 container of Philadelphia “Ready-to-Eat” Cheesecake filling
1 small box of Graham Cracker Crumbs
Yes–It is THAT easy! Don’t even go through the unnecessary tasks of creating homemade cheesecake filling. You can find the Ready-to-Eat filling at your local grocery store for a very reasonable price. All you have to do is core the strawberries with a knife, or you can even use a fruit carving tool if you have one. Then, just fill each strawberry with a spoon-full of cheesecake filling and top with the graham cracker crust.
ENJOY! 🙂

Mission: Complete

Welp… the birthday celebration in Las Vegas was a success. It was definitely memorable and we had a blast! An experience that we will never forget. We did a lot of walking around on The Strip when we got there just to get a nice view of the hotels and what Vegas has to offer. Occasionally, we’d walk into the casinos… lose some money… and walk out. That happened more times than I’d like to admit, but that’s the risk you’re taking when it comes to gambling! Saturday night, we were able to get a VIP table at Holly Madison’s production called Peepshow. It was a great experience that we’ll be able to look back on in the future. I had been wanting to see it for a while, and we are glad we did it because she’s pregnant and only has a few weeks left of the show. All in all, Vegas treated us well this weekend! 🙂 No complaints!

….well other than giving those damn slots a lot more money than they deserved.

Cheers to Vegas!!!!!!

My best friend, Amanda and I just booked a trip to Las Vegas for my birthday celebration! I can’t even try to explain how excited we are. We’ve been doing extensive research on where we want to go and what we want to do. I’ve been once before, but this will be Amanda’s first time. Anyone know of any “Vegas Secrets” they would like to share with us?!

Labor Day Weekend 2012

Ahhh.. the last weekend of the “summer.” This basically seals that deal that summer is actually OVER. Time to concentrate on school and getting back into the hang of things. Luckily, I was able to join my girls this weekend as we headed up to Stillwater on Saturday to cheer on the Cowboys in that blowout of a game. We had a great time, though. It’s always nice to catch up with old friends and meet new ones! 🙂

Unfamiliar Media

For this project, we had to choose an application that we don’t usually work with. I mainly do everything on a computer, so I decided to hand-render a typeface for a poster supporting the Army. The top section was drawn by hand, scanned, and vectored in order to fill in the color. The bottom section is a collage of printed Army photos to show that these soldiers are from families just like you and me. They committed their lives in order to protect us, and the least we can do is give them their credit and have nothing but support for them.

Best Kept Secret

UCO has a secret restaurant that is ran by nutrition students in the Human Environmental Science building, which is directly west of the lake by the Nigh University Center. They serve salads, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and delicious smoothies! It’s also cheaper than the Nigh or any fast food, and much healthier. I tried a chocolate blueberry smoothie last week–scrumptious.

Today… I had a Crab Sandwich for $4.25 and worth every penny. It was served on a cheese asiago bagel with hot sauce and a lime on the side. I couldn’t complain about anything! Check it out…Image

Oklahoma Skies

The prettiest sunset I’ve seen in a while! This was tonight on the patio at Mama Roja’s at Lake Hefner. Nothing better than good friends, good food/drinks, and a beautiful sunset.

A Walk Through the Forest…

This is an illustration that I did for my Illustration I class. I pretty much have no confidence in drawing–ANYTHING… so this was definitely a challenge for me, but I think it turned out pretty well!

Portfolio Progress

Ahhhhh this has got to be the most stressful week of my college career. Portfolio is due tomorrow and I’m pretty sure I’m immune to the smell of rubber cement. :/

I’ve prepared 10 of my most impressive pieces since I’ve attended UCO and it’s finally time for the application process. Let’s just say, I can’t wait for the semester to be complete!
